Announcement Regarding Additional Exams and Time Extensions for Associate and Undergraduate Students Who Have Reached Their Maximum Duration of Study at the End of the 2025-2026 Academic Year Spring Semester

Excluding the one-year foreign language preparatory class (maximum two years), those who fail to graduate by successfully completing associate degree programs within a maximum of four years and undergraduate programs within a maximum of seven years—starting from the semester when the courses related to their registered program are offered, and regardless of whether they have registered for each semester—may register to continue their education, provided they pay the student contribution / tuition fee per course they take for application/examination for the relevant semester, in accordance with the conditions specified in Article 46 of this Law. The preparatory education period is a maximum of two years. Students cannot be dismissed within the maximum periods due to non-payment of the student contribution and tuition fee or failure to renew their registration; however, by the decision of the authorized university boards and the approval of the Council of Higher Education, students may be dismissed if they fail to pay the contribution or tuition fee and fail to renew their registration for four consecutive years.”

At the end of the additional time exams, the student's status will be evaluated within the framework of the “Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University Associate and Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations, Maximum Periods of Study and Student Status (Article 12),” and the relevant student will either be granted additional time, given unlimited exam rights, or dismissed from the University.

Students who have reached their maximum duration of study are granted two additional exam rights for all the courses they have failed. These two additional exam rights are administered after the end-of-semester exam periods for these courses, before the start of the new academic term. At the end of these exams, students who are unable to reduce their number of failed courses to five—including courses they have never taken and courses where they failed to meet the attendance requirement—will be dismissed from the University.

Following the two additional exam rights granted for all failed, never-taken, or uncompleted (due to absenteeism) courses to students who have reached their maximum duration:

  • Those who reduce the number of failed, never-taken, or uncompleted courses to five are granted three semesters for these five courses;

  • Those who already have five or fewer failed, never-taken, or uncompleted courses without needing to use their additional exam rights are granted four semesters;

  • Those who have failed only one course are granted the right to take an unlimited number of exams for that course, without benefiting from student rights.

Important notice to all students.
