What is fundamental science

     Engineering Fundamental Sciences Department aims to provide engineering students with a strong background in basic sciences in undergraduate and graduate engineering programs. Mathematics and physics courses given to undergraduate students and engineering mathematics courses given to graduate students are the most basic applications.

     As another application, courses offered for engineering undergraduate and graduate students to gain in-depth knowledge in a field of physics or mathematics are counted. In addition, faculty support is provided by the our department for physics and mathematics courses in the curriculum of other units of the university.

     The faculty members of the department aim to be a pioneer in scientific research in their fields with their research projects, scientific articles published in reputable international journals and scientific papers presented in prestigious conferences. In addition, it is another aim to carry out scientific studies with faculty members in other units of the university, especially by developing interdisciplinary projects.
