Our Student Teams Reached the Finals in Three Different Competitions at TEKNOFEST 2026

Three teams of students from the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences qualified for the finals of three different competitions at the TEKNOFEST 2026 Aerospace and Technology Festival. The festival is organized by the Ministry of Industry and Technology and the Turkish Technology Team Foundation (T3 Foundation). The teams developed their projects with guidance from our faculty members.

Smart Road Safety with 5G and Artificial Intelligence Competition

Turkcell organized this competition as part of TEKNOFEST 2026. It drew 745 team applications from 11 countries and more than 150 universities. Of the 163 teams that passed the preliminary round, the 20 with the highest scores advanced to the final. Our team competed in the final stage, held on 8–9 August 2026 at the İTÜ Ayazağa Campus, where driving tests were carried out with Togg, Türkiye's domestically produced car. The award-winning teams will be announced at TEKNOFEST 2026 in Şanlıurfa, 30 September – 4 October 2026.

FPV Drone Tracking Competition
Team: Ankasky

Our Ankasky team is made up of Software Engineering and Computer Engineering students. They built a drone system that uses camera and image processing technologies to detect and track targets, and competed with it in the final stage of the FPV Drone Tracking Competition in Eskişehir.

High Altitude Rocket Competition

Supernova Rocket Team has been part of our Aeronautics and Space Club since 2018. After successfully completing the Launch Readiness Report (AHR) stage, the team earned a place in the rocket launches held in Aksaray. There it represented our faculty in the final stage of the High Altitude Rocket Competition with its rocket "MARMARA 5", named after Bandırma's rocketry history in the 1960s.
