General Information

Our department accepted its first students into the Turkish program in the 2019-2020 academic year and began offering the English program in the 2020-2021 academic year. Currently, our department continues education with two programs: Turkish and English.

The course plans of the English Program in Computer Engineering are the same as those of the Turkish program, with the medium of instruction being 100% English. Students in the English program are required to complete and succeed in a one-year English Preparatory class. Optionally, students in the English program can take the exemption exam held at the beginning of the fall semester. Students who pass this exam can directly start from the first year. Similar to other departments of our faculty, there is an optional preparatory class in our Turkish program as well. However, for Turkish program students, success in the preparatory class is not mandatory.

In addition to the basic scientific courses taken in the first year, our students form the necessary foundations for Computer Engineering through many courses such as Advanced Programming, Data Structures, Electronics, Logic Circuits, Database Management, Algorithms, Data Communication, and Operating Systems in subsequent semesters. Besides theoretical courses, laboratory applications are also emphasized, providing students with the opportunity to apply the knowledge they have acquired.

With mandatory internships lasting a total of 40 days across two terms, it is aimed that our students gain knowledge and experience in both the public and private sectors. Our department continues education with 3 Associate Professors, 7 Assistant Professors, and 3 Research Assistants. Our department consists of four main disciplines: Computer Software, Computer Hardware, Computer Sciences, and Cyber Security.
