ℹ️ What Is Horizontal Transfer?

Horizontal transfer is the process that allows a student who is currently enrolled in a higher education institution to transfer to another program at the same level either within the same institution or to a different higher education institution.

1 Application Process (Step by Step)

1 Filling Out the Online Application Form

Fill out the application form that is opened on the university website within the dates announced.

⚠️ Attention: Each applicant can apply to only one program!

2 Preparing the Required Documents

Upload the following documents to the system (including any additional documents requested, if applicable):

  • Transcript of records
  • Electronically signed and QR-coded course descriptions
  • Student certificate
  • ÖSYS exam result document (for Additional Article-1 applications)
  • Document showing that you have not previously used Additional Article-1 for horizontal transfer
  • Document showing that you have no disciplinary sanctions
  • Document proving that you are within the top 10% success ranking for transfers from evening education to daytime education

3 Announcement of Results

After the applications are evaluated, the results are announced.

📅 Follow-up: Regularly check the department website and announcements for result dates. In particular, follow the web pages of our department and the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences. Please also check your e-mail frequently.

4 Final Registration Procedures

Students who are entitled to horizontal transfer must complete their in-person final registration within the announced dates.

🚨 IMPORTANT: It is mandatory to present the originals of all documents uploaded to the system at registration. Registrations of students who provide false information will be cancelled!

Evaluation Formula:

100% ÖSYM Score

Your ÖSYS/YKS score from the year you first enrolled in higher education is used directly.

📈 GPA-Based Applications

Evaluation Formula:

60%
GPA
40%
ÖSYM Score

Your final score is calculated by adding 60% of your GPA and 40% of your ÖSYM score.

🏆 Ranking: Students are ranked according to their calculated scores. In case of a tie, the student with the higher ÖSYM score is given priority.

⚠️ Important Reminders

🚫 Application Method: Applications are accepted only through the online form. Applications by post or in person are not accepted.

📄 Document Submission: It is mandatory to present the originals of all uploaded documents at the time of registration.

❌ False Declarations: Registrations of students who provide incorrect or misleading information will be immediately cancelled.

+ Vertical Transfer (DGS) Procedures

📋 DGS Registration Procedures

Students who are placed in the university as a result of the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS):

  • Can complete their registration via e-Government (e-Devlet) between 11–15 September 2025.
  • Those who cannot register electronically may apply in person to the Central Student Affairs Office on the same dates.
  • Within two weeks after registration, they must submit their transcript and course descriptions to the Faculty Dean’s Office.

🎓 Course Exemption Procedures

Students who come through DGS may request course exemptions:

  • Application is made with an Exemption–Adaptation petition.
  • Transcript and course descriptions are sent to the faculty in electronic format.
  • Exemption application can be made only once.
  • The decision is made by the departmental administrative board.

⏰ Course Registration: After registration, students must log into the University Information Management System and complete their course registrations between 15–21 September 2025.
