Eleven Scientists from BANU in the “World’s Most Influential Scientists” List
In the 2024 “World’s Most Influential Scientists” list prepared by Stanford University, eleven academicians from our University were included. The number reached this year indicates a higher success compared to previous years, revealing that our University has been increasingly enhancing its scientific productivity and international visibility.
This study, conducted every year by scientists at Stanford University, is carried out using international criteria such as the number of qualified publications, the impact of the journal in which the publications appear, the number of patents, the number of citations, h-index, hm-index, number of articles, number of cited articles, and the impact value of the journal. In the ranking prepared based on criteria such as the scientific productivity of academicians and the quality of their studies, more than 200,000 scientists around the world are evaluated.
In this prestigious list, academicians are included in two different categories: “Career-Long Impact” and “Single-Year Impact.” In the Career-Long Impact category, our Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences Members Prof. Dr. Abdullah Yeşil, Prof. Dr. İbrahim Arpacı, Prof. Dr. Serhat Duman, and Prof. Dr. Feyzullah Temurtaş, and our Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Member Prof. Dr. Yılmaz Bayar were included, while in the Single-Year Impact category, our Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences Members Prof. Dr. Abdullah Yeşil, Prof. Dr. İbrahim Arpacı, Prof. Dr. Serhat Duman, Prof. Dr. Özgen Korkmaz, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ömer Aslan, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Serhat Kılıçarslan, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Akif Çiftçi, our Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Member Prof. Dr. Yılmaz Bayar, our Faculty of Maritime Studies Member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Levent Bilgili, and our Vocational School of Health Services Member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Miraç Kamışlıoğlu were included.
Regarding the success of our academicians, our Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Boz stated, “It is a great source of pride for us that our academic staff are among the world’s most influential scientists. Especially the fact that more of our professors are included in the list compared to previous years is the most concrete proof that our University is steadily rising in scientific productivity. This success is an indicator of our University’s understanding of qualified research and education. I congratulate our esteemed professors and wish them continued success,” he said.
