Our Student Teams Reached the Finals in Three Different Competitions at TEKNOFEST 2026

Three teams of students from the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences qualified for the final stage of three different competitions held within the scope of the TEKNOFEST 2026 Aerospace and Technology Festival, organized under the leadership of the Ministry of Industry and Technology and the Turkish Technology Team Foundation (T3 Foundation), with projects developed under the supervision of our faculty members.

5G and Artificial Intelligence for Smart Road Safety Competition

The competition, run by Turkcell within the scope of TEKNOFEST 2026, received applications from 745 teams representing more than 150 universities in 11 countries; among the 163 teams that passed the preliminary round, the 20 highest-scoring teams advanced to the final. Our team took part in the final stage held on 8–9 August 2026 at the ITU Ayazağa Campus, where solutions were tested in on-road driving trials with Togg, Türkiye's domestic automobile. The winning teams will be announced at TEKNOFEST 2026, to be held in Şanlıurfa on 30 September – 4 October 2026.

FPV Drone Tracking Competition

Our Ankasky team, made up of Software Engineering and Computer Engineering students, took part in the final stage of the FPV Drone Tracking Competition held in Eskişehir with a drone system capable of detecting and tracking targets using camera and image processing technologies.

High Altitude Rocket Competition

Active since 2018 as part of our Aviation and Space Society, the Supernova Rocket Team successfully completed the Launch Readiness Report (LRR) stage and qualified for the rocket launches held in Aksaray, representing our faculty in the final stage of the High Altitude Rocket Competition with its rocket named "MARMARA 5" in reference to Bandırma's rocketry heritage of the 1960s.
